From chasers to single point laydown and on edge we have the ability to manufacture anything our customers need in a specific substrate and coating that will work best for their current application. There is no minimum purchase and we keep specific items in stock based on our customer’s needs.
Lone Star Carbide & Tooling is licensed to manufacture premium inserts for various companies in the oil and gas industry. We have also worked with their R&D department to create inserts for new thread forms and provide overlays.
There is never a “one size fits all” when it comes to threading inserts. Things like the grade of the steel pipe, programming, RPM and depth of cut all come into play when figuring out which carbide substrate and coating combination will work best for our customers.
Knowing what the inserts will be cutting as well as machining parameters helps us determine which carbide substrate and coating will work best for that application.
